What the Beatles Could Learn from Mental Abilities

It is defined as moderate cognitive impairment (MCI) as an intermediate stage between the cognitive decline associated with the expected more dangerous natural aging process that comes with dementia and decline.

Brain training and mental deterioration
Although brain training was supposed to slow mental decline, there was no consensus on its effectiveness due to the absence of well-designed randomized controlled trials.

Professor Sylvie Belleville and a team of scientists from the University of Montreal conducted a study whose main objective is to assess the impact of memory formation on cognitive function as people who have MCI. To this end, they enrolled 145 adults who met MCI's amnestic criteria.

The scientists randomly selected participants from different groups, such as cognitive training, psychosocial intervention and non-contact control conditions. The intervention groups included eight sessions for two hours.

Before the training, three months later, after six months of the scientists' interventions, they measured the results of memory performance, mental health and the effects of the generalized intervention on the participants. The latter implies the use of strategy in everyday life.

The results of the study, published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics,found that adults in the cognitive training group saw an improvement in the degree of late vehicle memory and the use of the strategy of daily life.

In addition, their improvements still exist three and six months after the interventions are completed. On the other hand, the participants of the two remaining groups did not experience these benefits.

The improvement in cognitive abilities after brain formation is greater for older people who had been delayed in Istidhkaar, and the ability to remember specific information after a period of rest or distraction from that information.

The scientists intend to summarize the evidence on the effects of cognitive training on cognitive performance and dementia outcomes in adults with MCI and normal knowledge. To find their answers, the researchers used databases such as EMBASE, Medline, PsycInfo and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials.

For inclusion in the review, it was in studies that met a set of criteria, including at least six months of the study period, and published in English, and had cognitive training compared to usual care, information and tail, controls and care in healthy adults.

We included 11 studies in the review, which were published in the Annals of Internal Medicine The review found that in older people with normal cognition, brain training improves cognitive performance, but they have not found sufficient evidence of its effects on cognitive decline.

This only confirms the previous study that current evidence on this subject is inconclusive and that it inspired Canadian scientists to carry out their important research.

A team of scientists from Canada confirmed that cognitive training can protect us from mental deterioration or delay progression. This study is important because it illustrates the importance of mental activities and participates in providing consistent evidence on this topic.
